Multichannel Seismic Surveys
Fugro Oceansismica provides High Resolution and Ultra High Resolution (HR and UHR) multichannel seismic surveys for a wide variety of purposes: well site geohazards assessment (shallow gas, active faulting and potential hydrate zones), construction projects (bridges, sub-sea tunnels, docks, harbours, dams, pipelines etc.) and shallow target 2D exploration.
Personnel experience and equipment availability allow us to satisfy the different technical requirements of each individual project.
HR2D AND UHR2D SEISMIC SURVEYS
HR geophysical surveys for shallow gas hazard assessment or for shallow water target seismic exploration are normally conducted utilising up to 144 channel data acquisition systems; more channels and various configurations of sleeve air-guns or GI-guns clusters, are utilised depending on project requirements, water depth and morphological features of the site.
UHR multichannel seismic surveys are carried out, mainly for engineering purposes, utilising 24 or 48 channel streamers (3.125 or 6.25m trace spacing) with a single air-gun of appropriate size, or with gun clusters or multi-tip sparker array.
Spread geometry, source size, folds and recording parameters are tailored to project requirements and site environmental characteristics (water depth, offshore or inland waters, bottom features, lithology etc.) in order to optimise data acquisition.
EEZ SURVEYS
Fugro’s fleet of survey vessels is equipped to undertake specialised surveys for national Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) assessment. Detailed sea fllor charts and sub-sea geophysical information assist government departments and marine consultants in the evaluation of national assets and the definition of international berders and EEZ zones.
DATA PROCESSING
Onboard the survey vessels, seismic data processing specialists ensure the data collected meet stringent quality control requirements. At the same time processed data can be used for a preliminary interpretation if required.
Fugro Oceansismica offers full onboard seismic processing employing the same technology and software (PC based Interpex Seistrix Marine and Unix based Geovecteur Plus or Disco Focus work stations) as used in our onshore processing centres, subject to project and client requirements.
